Riverside is the primary fishing district of Bordertown. Most of Bordertown's seafood is caught and purchased here. Riverside is also home to warehouses of sea-faring trading companies taking goods from Elfland to the human World and back again. Trade is the lifeblood of Bordertown's economics, which makes Riverside a valuable, albiet rundown district.

Basic Information
Prominent Ethnic Groups: Fisher Folk, humans, truebloods (lowborn)
Income Level: Low-Medium
Prominent Occupations: Fishers, traders, dock workers, ship crew
Local Gangs: Wharf Rats

THE MAD RIVER user posted image
Red as blood (or cherry Kool-aid), the Mad River runs
North-South from Elfland to the human world. To truebloods
and fisherfolk, drinking from the Mad River is like drinking
from any natural water source. For humans (and some halfies)
the Mad Water is an addictive and free drug source that can
act as both a hallucination and a psychoactive drug.

Held every weekend in Riverside, the market is the premier
place to get three-eyed fish, jewelry, baskets and whatever
else the Fisher Folk and local residents can come up with.
The safety of eating Mad River fish is a topic of much debate
in Bordertown, though the Fisher Folk swear it's fine.

Fisher Folk are Bordertown's native race, already in the city
when Elfland returned. They work and live almost exclusively
in Riverside on or alongside the Mad River. For more info
on Fisher Folk, check out our Fisher Folk Guide.

Back before the Elfland came back, this was a boardwalk of
games, rides and family fun. Now the crumbling rides and
rotting planks are the home and basecamp of the Wharf rats,
a human gang addicted to the red Mad River water. Wharf Rats
are neutral and will attack anyone, for the sheer sake of it, just
because they can, or because someone paid them to do it.

A crumbling and graffiti-covered brick wall separate Riverside
from Soho. Much of the graffiti is very artistic-- a locale favorite
being the statue of liberty with elf ears, spiky hair and the words
"Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to
play rock and roll." Many gang members of various groups patrol
the gate, so it's advised to be on your guard.

Surrounding Areas
↑ North to: The Promenade
↓ South to: Tintown and Dogtown
→ East to: the Suburbs
← West to: Soho

From the outside, this little shop does not stand out. The door, however, is always
open and inside many small treasures are hidden. Some popular and plain items
are offered on the stand in front of the store, on the Fish and Farmer’s Market.
Ranniah, the store’s owner, does not say much, but will give you a decent price for
rarities. Some of her items are handmade jewelry and jewelry boxes, exotic shells,
masks, rainbow lollypops, urns, oil lamps. Upon request, Ranniah can assist you
otherwise as well. It’s been said she masters the art of creating voodoo dolls and
magic potions and people have seen several types of animal bones around her store.
But this is Bordertown. It could just be rumors.

Or not.
